Description

The Peacock Calathea is a work of art, bold, patterned leaves that unfold like painted feathers, nestled in our warm Sand Dune pot. It's the kind of plant that turns heads and sparks conversation.

Unlike cut flowers that fade in days, this beauty keeps giving. Air-purifying, pet-friendly, and endlessly captivating, it's a gift that grows with you, season after season.

Care

Your Calathea Peacock comes planted in the right soil mix so it starts healthy — with just a few basics right, it will keep its patterned leaves vibrant and beautiful.

Where to keep it?
Think soft, filtered light. Calatheas prefer bright shade — near a window with a curtain, beside indirect daylight, or in a well-lit room without direct sun.
Harsh sunlight can fade the leaf patterns and cause curling or browning. Too little light may slow growth and dull the foliage.

How much watering?
Calatheas like evenly moist soil but dislike soggy roots. The most common issue is letting the soil dry out too much or keeping it constantly wet.

  • Touch the soil and push your finger 1 inch deep. If it feels slightly moist, don’t water.
  • If it feels dry, water thoroughly until water drains from the bottom.
  • In summers: usually 1–2 times a week. In winters: once every 7–10 days. (Always follow the finger-test over the calendar.)

Other care tips

  • Calatheas love humidity — dry air can cause crispy edges. Keep away from direct AC or heaters.
  • Use clean, low-chlorine water if possible to avoid leaf browning.
  • Wipe leaves gently sometimes so dust doesn’t block light and the patterns stay clear.
  • Slight leaf movement (opening and closing through the day) is natural — it means your plant is healthy.
