Work with us!

What is Planterie?
Planterie is a plant studio and café in South Delhi. We sell thoughtfully put-together potted plants, terrariums, plant gifts and care products, both in-store and online. We also offer ongoing plant-care guidance.
Beyond retail, we run terrarium and planting workshops, create corporate and personal gifts, and design and execute balconies, terraces and indoor plantscaping projects from start to finish. Our café sits within the studio and gives people a place to spend time among plants.
We're opening more stores and looking for people to help us with growth.
Why Planterie exists
Our mission is to reconnect people with nature.
In service of this mission, every interaction matters: how a plant is displayed, how a customer is spoken to, how an order is packed and how a team member feels while doing the work.
We grow roles around people
We have not drawn neat boxes around every role; we would rather begin with your strengths, interests and way of thinking, and explore where these meet the needs of the business.
So this is not a list of open positions. It is an invitation to start a conversation. You do not need to arrive with a perfectly defined role in mind. Tell us what you would like to explore. We would love to talk - preferably in person.
What you could work on
-
Plantscaping projects: Taking terraces, balconies and indoor green spaces from the first customer conversation to the final handover. This could include understanding the space and the customer’s needs, developing a design, selecting plants and materials, coordinating contractors and vendors, supervising execution, documenting the work and building a portfolio of completed projects. This may suit an architect, interior designer, landscape designer or project manager who is comfortable moving between creative thinking and detailed on-site execution.
-
Sourcing, product development and vendor relationships: Someone who can turn Planterie’s taste into real products and experiences—from finding glass jars for terrariums, pots, plants and ribbons to designing staff shirts, shipping boxes, packaging and printed DIY guides. This means finding and developing vendors, working on Canva, testing samples, negotiating prices and ensuring quality at scale. A strong design sensibility is non-negotiable, because this role shapes much of what the customer sees, touches and takes home. It would suit a resourceful, street-smart problem-solver who can move comfortably between small details and larger sourcing systems.
-
E-commerce growth and thoughtful marketing: Someone who can own Planterie’s online sales—manage Shopify, performance marketing, Google Merchant Center and Meta Business Suite, while improving conversion and tracking what works. They should also be able to write well and create useful blogs, campaigns and content that inspire people rather than add noise or feed insecurity. The aim is to grow organically as far as possible, using paid marketing thoughtfully to amplify what already resonates.
-
Living inventory and fulfilment: Someone who can build and run systems for receiving, barcoding, tracking, caring for and moving plants and products across stores, storage and online orders. Because much of our inventory is alive, this person must understand—or be willing to learn—plant care, while also being comfortable with data, Zoho, Shopify and stock reporting. They should be highly organised, able to spot mismatches or ageing stock early, and ensure the right products are healthy, available and ready when customers need them.
-
Organisation design, learning and customer experience: Someone who can shadow different roles across Planterie, understand how work happens and turn those insights into better systems, onboarding, training and everyday practices. This could include improving how we sell, interact with customers, care for plants and deliver services, while ensuring that standards come to life in practice rather than remain as written SOPs. This may suit a thoughtful, people-oriented systems thinker with experience in organisation development, learning and development, service design, hospitality, training or people operations
You may already be experienced in one of these areas. You may also be moving into it from an adjacent field. Both are welcome.
Who feels at home here?
Planterie grows like a garden - at its own pace, changing with the seasons and always creating something new to notice, learn or make. People who do well here see work as a form of self-expression.

These are some traits that would help
-
Curious: Fresh minds that do not begin with, “This is how it is usually done” i.e. those who observe, ask questions and think from first principles.
-
Thorough: People who pay attention to details and notice the small things
-
T-shaped: who have depth in something, but are willing to learn beyond it. You may own one area while occasionally helping a teammate solve a completely different problem.
-
Design-minded: People who have an eye for art, design and building systems.
-
Drawn to nature: You do not need to be a plant expert, but be interested in plants. After all, our work is about connecting people with nature.
-
Organised: People who document things clearly and systematically
-
Self-motivated: Most people at Planterie are self-motivated. They don’t depend on constant supervision, external rewards or reminders. The work is meaningful on its own.
We offer autonomy, visible ownership and the chance to build things from scratch. We value honest communication and quiet, creative, effective work.
First month: Discover your potential & design your role
We usually begin with a one-month paid exploration period, with a stipend of ₹16,000.
During this month, you will work on real projects, spend time with different parts of Planterie and understand how the business works. We will observe what you enjoy, where you add the most value and what the business needs.
At the end of the month, we sit together and decide whether there is a longer-term fit. If there is, we design the role, responsibilities and salary together.
Note: The ideas and words on this page began with a human point of view; AI was used only to help structure and refine them.
