Where to keep it?

Think bright light.

• Outdoors: Give it lots of light (morning sun is great). Avoid a permanently shady corner.
• Cold note: Ficus doesn’t handle frost—protect/shift it when nights get cold.

How much watering?

The biggest mistake is watering on a fixed schedule. Water by observation.

• Touch the soil and push your finger 1 inch deep.
• If it feels slightly moist, don’t water.
• If it feels slightly dry, water generously (until it drains).
• Summer: usually 2–3x/week outdoors.
• Winter: usually 1x/week or less (less growth = less water).
  

Other care tips

• Leaf drop often happens after shifting locations—give it stable light and a week or two.
• Don’t let water sit in the tray after watering.
