Where to keep it?

Cryptanthus holds its colour best in bright light, but harsh sun can scorch the leaves.

• Best spot: Window Light (bright near a window, light filtered via glass/curtain).
• It can take a little Direct Sunlight (early morning sun), but avoid strong afternoon sun.
• In Away from Window Light, the colours often fade and growth slows.

How much watering?

The most common issue is water sitting in the pot for too long. It likes lightly moist soil, not soggy.

• Touch the soil and push your finger 1 inch deep.
• If it feels even slightly moist, don’t water.
• If it feels dry, water thoroughly until water drains from the bottom.
• In summers: usually once a week (sometimes a bit more in dry heat)
• In winters: usually once every 10–14 days (Always follow the finger-test over the calendar.)

Other care tips

• It enjoys humidity—keep it away from hot, dry AC air.
• If the centre stays wet all the time, reduce watering and improve airflow (it helps prevent rot).
