Care

At Planterie, we give every plant a healthy start by potting it in the right soil mix. So your plant comes healthy. If you get just a few basics right, it will thrive.

Where to keep it?

Peperomia prefers bright, gentle light. Too much sun can mark the leaves; too little light slows growth.

  • Best spot: Window Light (bright near a window, light filtered via glass/curtain).
  • It can handle Away from Window Light if the room is still bright, but growth will be slower.
  • Avoid long hours of Direct Sunlight, especially afternoon sun.

How much watering?

The most common mistake is watering too often. Peperomia has fleshy leaves/stems that hold water, so it likes the soil to dry a bit.

  • Touch the soil and push your finger 1 inch deep.
  • If it feels even slightly moist, don’t water.
  • If it feels dry, water thoroughly until water drains from the bottom.
  • In summers: usually once a week
  • In winters: usually once every 10–14 days (Always follow the finger-test over the calendar.)

Other care tips

  • If leaves feel soft and yellowing, it’s often too much water; if they look wrinkled, it’s usually too little.
  • Wipe leaves occasionally (especially thicker, glossy varieties) so dust doesn’t block light.
